Our Story
The idea for forming Midguard Training Services came in response to hearing a local news story; a child who lived in a neighboring rural community choked on food at home. The child’s parents did not have any CPR/First Aid training, and were unable to clear the blockage or resuscitate the child. When they called 911, they were told that EMS was nearly 45 minutes away. The child, tragically, passed away.
A few months after hearing this story, my wife and I had the unsettling experience of needing to perform First Aid to rescue our own son from choking, and we learned first-hand how absolutely necessary basic emergency response is for rural families. We were extremely fortunate to have had the training necessary to save our son's life. We couldn’t imagine anything we’d like to do more than empower local families to have the confidence and training necessary to prevent loss of life. While many members of our community enjoy the benefits of living in rural areas, the reality is that many homes are far removed from Emergency Medical Services, with response time ranging from 15 minutes to 45 minutes. In a life-or-death situation, every second counts.
Midguard Training Services is dedicated to building the skills you need to face an emergency situation in your home or workplace with immediate response, up-to-date knowledge, and practiced confidence. If the skills we teach are instrumental in saving just one life one day, it will all have been worth it.

Participants removed for this reason will not receive a refund.
Be aware that certain physical abilities are neccessary to pass each course. If you have questions or concerns about your physical ability to participate, please contact your instructor before booking your course.
No refunds are granted upon a participant's failure to pass a course, or for failure to arrive and/or attend the entire duration of the course. Our classes are designed to give all participants individualized instruction and to set the participant up for success on their exam. MTS strives to build real response skills, not sell certifications and promote false confidence.
The only exception is for failure to pass the pre-qualifying swim test during the Lifeguarding Course. Participants who fail the pre-qualifying swim test are elligible for a 50% refund, upon discretion of the instructor.
